Communications
There are two categories of communications you may receive from CMC:
- Required – you cannot opt out of these
- Optional – you can select not to receive these
Required
Required communications include reminders regarding licensing confidentiality obligations and requests for product and service usage reports. To ensure CMC satisfies commitments made to suppliers and funders of the National Design Network you cannot opt out of these communications.
Optional
CMC sends periodic e-mail bulletins providing information on new tools and technologies, upcoming resource competitions, training/workshops and industrial events, and career opportunities. You may opt out of these bulletins at any time.

Confidentiality
CMC complies with all requirements for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information set out in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), S.C. 2000, c. 5. And, unless exempted by PIPEDA, shall comply with the principles, as captured in CMC's Privacy Policy.
Given the above, all information we receive from you, including your Account profile information, resource applications and survey responses, will be held in confidence within CMC. Your individual information will not be shared without your prior consent.
Aggregate data may be shared outside of CMC, for example, in reports to funders.
Information Sharing Opportunities: Consent
CMC offers a variety of on-line community resources for information sharing. CMC will not share any of your personal or identifying information without your specific consent. When participating in community spaces, the act of writing and posting information in a forum is deemed as consent to share that particular information within the forum.
Product Information Gathering: Consent
Your use of on-line CMC products and services, e.g., software license access, may be recorded and your use is deemed as consent for the collection and related use of this information by CMC to support business activities.
