Grant Application Deadline: May 10, 2012 (Run Codes 1202PA,1202PB, 1202PD, 1202PF) Application coming soon!
CMC Microsystems offers Canadian university researchers access to industrial-class fabrication of photonic and optoelectronic prototypes, through a strategic partnership with the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) in Ottawa and the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (IMEC) in Belgium.
Available Technology
1. III-V Epitaxy & Processing -- CPFC
- InP substrates (technology code PA)
- GaAs substrates (technology code PB)
2. Silicon-based Prototyping
- Silicon on Insulator -- CPFC (technology code PD)
- Silicon on Insulator -- IMEC's passive cSOI process (technology code PF)
The guidelines set out on CMC's website are based on processes currently available.
The feasibility of individual projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and researchers are encouraged to discuss their project concept with CMC before formally submitting a manufacturing request.
