Etched-in Success: Nanofabrication Laboratory Workshop on Technology Development and Transfer

at Ottawa, Ontario

CMC Microsystems in cooperation with NanoCanada and the University of Ottawa hosted nearly 40 attendees and presenters from across Canada who provided insights and shared lessons learned in the challenges and solutions for translating technology from academic micro-nano technology (MNT) labs into production centres. (September 2015, Gatineau, Québec)

Stakeholders from post-secondary institutions, industry, and government came together to discuss trends, challenges, and solutions related to translating technology from academic micro-nano technology (MNT) labs into production centres. This forum stimulated knowledge sharing and collaboration among organizations in the MNT innovation ecosystem—including the commercial manufacturing value chain, start-ups, academic and government nanofab facilities, and intermediary technology organizations—to position all parties for effective partnerships that enable efficient translation of proof-of-concept prototypes into production-approved process flows.
