Please review the Information for Authors page for details on participating in MNRC 2008.

This is the 1st edition of the graduate research conference focusing on microsystems, microelectronics, and nanoelectronics research. In addition to the opportunity to learn about research achievements and challenges in the area of manufacturing, design, implementation, and test of integrated microsystems and micro/nano-electronics devices, circuits, and systems, the purpose of this conference is to:

• Encourage favorable exposure of graduate students and their research;
• Create synergy between research groups, the academic world and industry;
• Benchmark graduate research in a friendly and cooperative environment.

The conference is being organized in conjunction with the CMC Microsystems Annual Symposium and co-sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Papers will be accepted for either oral or poster presentation. All accepted papers will be published on IEEE Xplore.

MNRC 2008 best paper awards are specifically dedicated to graduate students. A number of Certificate Awards in Gold, Silver, and Bronze Leaf categories will be presented.

 The graduate student papers accepted for oral presentations will compete for the awards as follows:

  • Top 10% will receive the GOLD LEAF Certificate     (each Gold Certificate includes a cheque of $1000)

  • 10-20% will receive the SILVER LEAF Certificate    (each Silver Certificate includes a cheque of $600)

  • 20-30% will receive the BRONZE LEAF Certificate  (each Bronze Certificate includes a cheque of $400)

In order to qualify for the awards, a paper must:

  • be accepted for oral presentation, and

  • have a graduate student as the first author, and

  • be presented by a graduate student.

NOTE: Recent graduate students who completed their post-graduate degrees in 2008 will also qualify for the competition.
