CMC Microsystems is organizing this one-day workshop to provide a forum for Canadian researchers to share information on their latest investigations in the areas of MEMS, microfluidics, and photonics. Applications of interest include telecommunications, biomedical and health care, and aerospace. This is also a unique opportunity for researchers to discuss their infrastructure requirements (e.g., CAD tools and fabrication technologies). This year's event will focus on integration issues and challenges including monolithic integration of microsystems and electronics, hybrid integrated microsystems, and commercialization strategies on the road to integration. The program will include four invited talks by industrial and academic experts, poster presentations by Canadian students and researchers, and an interactive panel discussion. We invite university, government, and industry researchers, particularly graduate students, to participate by preparing posters on their most recent unpublished research. Topics may include:
A limited amount of table space and electrical power will be available for demonstrations to complement poster presentations. Individuals who would like to present a poster should submit a two-page abstract (PDF file only) by e-mail to cwmems_abstract@cmc.ca. Important dates: CMC may invite selected poster authors to prepare a full-length paper, depending on arrangements with publishers. CMC is seeking to bring together representatives with diverse research and applications interests in MEMS, to provide the greatest value to delegates. Should you know someone who might be interested in this workshop, we invite you to forward the Preliminary Announcement and Call for Papers (PDF) or direct them to the conference website at: http://www.cmc.ca/news/events/mems_workshop_2005/ For additional information, please contact Watch for updates to this page |
