RF spectrum monitoring is becoming increasingly challenging and complex. With radio technologies that are pushing into higher frequency bands, and increasing diversity in wireless signals, RF engineers need robust solutions to monitor and analyze RF signals in their fields of operation. The advent of mmWave 5G that extends to 52 GHz frequency with bandwidth up to 800 MHz presents significant challenges for real-world  test, measurement and monitoring.

At ThinkRF we have been working on the development of new receiver technologies for the monitoring and analysis of advanced wireless waveforms. Specifically we have focused on the development of cost-effective, small, networked receivers for spectrum monitoring over large geographic areas. This distributed approach is specially relevant in the age of mmWave wireless with limited propagation range.

In this webinar we will discuss some of the key challenges in the design of wideband receivers, receiver architectures and considerations for form factor and scalable deployments. The presentation will walk through key requirements for small receivers, specifications and design. We will also discuss other practical considerations that result from a high level of integration that we attempt in order to keep the receiver size to a minimum.  Finally we will discuss some real-world case studies and applications of our receiver technology.
