Training: Cadence Tool-based Analog-Mixed Signal (AMS) Methodology

March 2 to 6, 2020 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

CMC is pleased to offer a five-day hands-on training course on Cadence EDA tools using AMS methodology. The course will be facilitated by Cadence experts. 

Training material will include a Reference Design and Reference flow documentation. A soft copy of the materials will be provided.

Cadence tools will be available for hands-on training using CMC’s cloud interface.

Topics covered will include Analog and Digital block development, mixed-signal integration of analog and digital blocks, top-level functional verification, physical implementation and sign-off.

Some of the Cadence tools that will be used in the training include:

  • Virtuoso IC 6.1.8
  • Xcelium
  • Spectre
  • Genus
  • Innovus
  • Conformal
  • Assura
  • PVS
  • Silicon Signoff and Verification (SSV)

Note: No Pictures are permitted during the course.

Target Attendees

The prime target attendees are those who are interested in providing training and support for the Cadence tool to other users in their research groups. To be eligible as a trainer:

  • You agree to be identified and act as the designated trainer for your research group;
  • You are a faculty, student, or research staff from a Canadian Academic Institution;
  • Limit 1 per research group; and
  • You have (or have a supervisor with) a CMC Subscription.

Registration is also open to other Academic Registrants (non-Trainers).

Pre-requisites

  • You or your supervisor has a subscription with CMC.
  • You are a licensed Cadence user through CMC.
  • You are familiar with CMC’s cloud interface to access and use CAD tools.
  • You have a basic understanding of analog, digital and mixed-Signal design

Please follow the course instructions to prepare for the training.

Note: CMC plans to repeat this five-day training in May 2020 in Western Canada (Location TBD).

Travel Subsidy

 

Train-the-Trainer

For those participants registering as Trainers, CMC will provide 100% reimbursement for travel and accommodations in accordance with the Queen’s University Travel Policy. Please use the trainer travel claim form (right-click the URL and save the file, and then open it from its folder) for your submission.

Academics with Subscription (Non-Trainers)

CMC will provide reimbursement for limited subsidized travel and accommodations, in accordance with the following:

  • Academics travelling between 50-250 km each way are eligible for subsidy up to $700.00
  • Academics travelling over 250 km each way are eligible for subsidy up to $1000.00
  • CMC will not provide a subsidy for travel within 50 km each way.

If you plan to apply for a travel subsidy, please read all the policies and guidelines listed above to ensure that you are qualified for the subsidy, and then follow the procedures and requirements to apply. Note: Original detailed itemized receipts are a mandatory requirement for all travel-related expenses, including meals.

Cancellations

Course cancellations must be received in writing at least one (1) week before the beginning date of the course in question to receive a full refund of the registration fee. A cancellation made after the deadline will not receive a refund. CMC Microsystems makes no commitments on refunds for travel or accommodations.

Disruption to CMC online applications

CMC is making improvements to infrastructure that will temporarily affect license access to ANSYS Campus Solutions for research, Amira, Avizo, Coventor, DW2000, Labview, Optiwave, SoftMEMS, and Zemax CAD tools.
