Summary - Eligibility Requirements
- Be a FABrIC member.
- Professor or Research Supervisor must hold a valid Professor Research Subscription.
- Have the appropriate agreements in place at your organization.
- Your institution must also be a member of FABrIC. This may be required to access certain services. If you are unsure about your institution’s membership status, please consult the FABrIC Member Registry after registering or contact us.

- If you already have a CMC account, select “Yes-Oui,” sign in, and proceed with the pre-filled form.
- If your account is already valid, you will receive an on-screen confirmation after submission.
- If verification is required, our membership team will review your request and send you a confirmation email.
- If you do not have an account or need a new one, select “No-Non” and complete the displayed form.
- Fill in all required information. Our membership team will review your request and send you a confirmation email.
- Create your password and activate your account via the link received in the confirmation email.
- Buy a Professor Research Subscription or Request a Quote.
- Purchase a subscription that can be used by your research team.
- An order confirmation email will be sent with access information.
- Access will then be available in 1 to 2 hours.
- At that time, you will be able to download the CAD tool quick start guides, which will help you get set up.
Invite team members to connect to your account and gain access to the services included in your subscription. For each professor or research supervisor, the subscription covers any of their supervised and co-supervised students, post-doctoral fellows and research assistants who have an account with CMC.
Easily manage your research team through your CMC account under the “My Team” tab. From there, you can:
- Approve team member requests to activate their access.
- Ensure team information is current by reviewing member details.
- Remove inactive members who are no longer part of your team to maintain accurate records.
Note: Approval grants team members access to the tools, technologies, and services available under your subscription. It also implies responsibility for ensuring compliance with proprietary licensing conditions, including use for academic research and educational purposes only. You may revoke approval at any time.
Instructions for Team Members (Students and Research Staff)

- Review and complete all required information. Continue with the pre-filled form that appears on the screen.
- Verify, update, and complete all mandatory questions, including identifying your supervisor, as this connection is necessary to access services.
Note: Only up-to-date accounts will be processed. - Supervisor approval: Our membership team will review your request and, if needed, send an approval request to your supervisor.
- Access: Once your account is approved by your supervisor, you will receive a confirmation email and access to valid subscriptions will be available within 2 hours.
- If you do not have a CMC account or need a new one, please select “no-non” and continue with the form that appears on the screen.
- Fill out all required information. Complete all required questions, including identifying your supervisor, as this account connection allows access.
- Supervisor approval. Our membership team will verify your application and send an approval request to your supervisor.
- Create your password and activate your account. Once your supervisor approves your account, you will receive an email to create your password.
- Access. Once your password is created, access to valid subscription will be available within two hours.
