Important Notes
- Third-party license limitations:
- There may be certain limitations when it comes to the use of the many CAD tools offered by CMC Microsystems for academic research purposes. For example, the software license could restrict using a particular license if such use is to perform services or research where the research (and/or results) will be owned by or provides a benefit to a government agency, or commercial or non-profit entity. In fact, the use of the software in this way is restricted regardless of whether or not it may lead to revenue generation of any kind.
- It is important to understand and respect the limitations of the use of software for academic research purposes. Please have a discussion with your supervisor and ask to see the software license terms before you start. Please see the Licensing Requirements or Restrictions section on the related tool page for more information and to view the software license terms and conditions from the related product vendor.
- Third-party license compliance technology and tracking:
Technology or products supplied by CMC Microsystems may include third-party license compliance technology. Specific details concerning this technology, including third-party privacy statements, are outlined in the product vendor’s License Agreement. Vendor agreements are on the CMC’s product web page under the section Licensing Requirements or Restrictions.
