Important Note: Discontinuation of Ansys Under the Research Subscription

Please note that Ansys is no longer be available under the Research Subscription.

If you currently receive Ansys licenses via CMC, please rest assured that you will retain full access to the Ansys tools you currently receive from CMC until the end of your current Research Subscription; however, access to ANSYS through CMC cannot be renewed through your subscription renewal.

Ansys will offer a discount of at least 50% going forward. Additional support, HPC licenses, or other discounts may also be provided if needed. This is valid only for Canadian Post-secondary Institutions or research labs that currently obtain licenses from CMC for microelectronics applications. You can request additional licenses at any time under the Ansys Academic Program’s flexible, discounted model.

The Ansys Academic Research bundle provides access to the majority of available Ansys software, including but not limited to HFSSIcepakMaxwellMechanical, Fluent and Discovery. It provides simulation capabilities for structures, heat transfer, 2D/3D electromagnetics and multiphysics problems, using CAD file import add-ons, solid modeling tools, high-performance shared & distributed memory (HPC) solvers, advanced meshing, and post-processing features.

Ansys On-Line Support – Ansys provides various ways to find support information:

  • Ansys Academic Research software now includes a link to online Help and Tutorial files stored on Ansys servers. These are available for all Academic Research modules.
  • Ansys staff provides a Learning Resources website, with free courses available.
  • Technical assistance for simulation work is provided through the Ansys Learning Forum. Registration is required to post support questions. There is no charge to create an account.
