Event Details

A Quantum BC virtual event to collectively brainstorm the outlook for quantum hardware and software for the next decade

This event will bring together academic faculty and staff, industry experts and students for a dynamic, multi-level discussion and exchange of information. Together we will aim to create a common vision for quantum computing in British Columbia and beyond, in the context of the global quantum landscape.

The Roadmapping activity will be split across two sessions, one focused on quantum hardware, and the other on quantum software and algorithms. Each session will start with a brief introduction to a subset of specific topics, followed by small breakout groups in which each team – guided by a subject matter Champion – will do a deep dive into one of the topics. We will reconvene at the end of the breakout sessions to present results to the whole group, and discuss the overall findings in a panel format.

Compiling all the results from the breakout groups will yield a Roadmapping Document that may serve as a basis to synchronize efforts across the quantum computing sector in BC, advocate for funding in strategic areas, and provide a benchmark for ongoing developments and technology adoption.
