Wrapping up 2022: The Year in Review

December 19, 2022: As 2022 comes to a close, I would like to thank our community of clients, suppliers, staff, and funders for continued support.

It has been a great year of growth in the community, nationally and internationally. Across Canada, we have supported 698 research teams, 68 of which are new, 24 start-ups through our Virtual Incubator Environment, and 15 other companies through access to fabrication or training.  Internationally, users from more 16 companies and 33 academic institutions have benefited from access to tools, technologies, or training.

We have introduced new technologies in our portfolio, including fabrication processes in microelectronics, photonics, and superconducting circuits for quantum devices, and expect to facilitate the fabrication of more than 400 unique prototypes.

We have many exciting things in development to release in 2023, including new technologies and CMC BasecampTM training, such as the first Quantum Photonics Workshop allowing participants to design, fabricate, and test quantum silicon photonic circuits used in quantum computer hardware. Events already in the calendar:

You can learn about the latest releases through our newsletter and by following us on social media.

We look forward to working with everyone in the new year!
