The objective of the mission is to explore the Canadian semiconductor industry with a view to establishing working relationships.
The delegation will visit sites in Sherbrooke, Bromont, Ottawa, Toronto, and more.
CMC President, Gordon Harling stressed the importance of international cooperation. “Canadian companies need international marketing success and access. They have to be aware of innovations in technology or business models around the world and diversify their trade. This is a great opportunity for Canadian companies to do that”, he said.
CMC has already begun work with three of the participating UK companies;
- Paragraf, the first company in the world to mass produce graphene-based electronic devices using standard semiconductor processes.
- Pragmatic, a pioneering company in the field of flexible semiconductor technology.
- Cornerstone Photonics Innovation Centre which is the UK’s technology hub for silicon photonics.
