CMC Microsystems and NIT Calicut Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Advance Semiconductor and Deep Technology Research

Ottawa, ON and Calicut, India, September 23, 2026 – CMC Microsystems (CMC), Canada's national organization supporting research and innovation in advanced technologies, and the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), one of India's leading institutes for engineering and technology education and research, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore strategic collaboration in key technology domains that are shaping the future of the global economy.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in a range of high-impact fields, including:

  • Semiconductors
  • Photonics
  • Electronics and Optoelectronics
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Quantum Technologies
  • Internet of Things (IoT)

The MOU creates opportunities for both organizations to pursue joint research initiatives, technology development projects, training activities, workshops, seminars, researcher exchanges, and future commercialization opportunities.
