Marjan Bagheri
Marjan Bagheri is currently Senior Managing Director at the Quantum Algorithms Institute (QAI), a quantum computing ecosystem catalyst and start-up based in Surrey, BC. QAI’s mission is to grow a robust applied quantum computing ecosystem in British Columbia and beyond, through education, research, and commercial adoption of quantum computing technologies. Marjan previously worked as a senior civil servant for the Government of British Columbia, mainly in the energy and natural resources sectors, and holds a master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Victoria, and a master’s in International and Intercultural Communications from Royal Roads University.
Madison Rilling, PhD
Madison Rilling is General Manager of Optonique, Quebec’s photonics cluster, which brings together and mobilizes all academic, industrial and R&D players in Quebec’s photonics sector around common objectives of growth and innovation. Prior to joining Optonique, Madison worked as a Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology while completing her doctoral studies. Very engaged in science advocacy and policy, she is a member of Canada’s Chief Science Advisor’s Youth Council and a Board member of Science & Policy Exchange. Madison holds a PhD in Physics (Medical Physics and Optical Engineering) from Université Laval in Quebec City.
