CMC welcomes Nipissing University – 60th post-secondary member institution to join Canada’s National Design Network

August 28, 2019: CMC Microsystems is pleased to welcome Nipissing University to its national network of micro-nano innovator institutions, increasing CMC’s member network to 60 universities and colleges across Canada.

Membership gives innovators at Nipissing access to CMC’s extensive offering of industrial-grade products and services for designing, making and testing the hardware innovations that are essential to tomorrow’s advanced technologies and products. These resources also help students gain the advanced R&D skills that companies need to compete.

“In science and technology, our faculty are conducting internationally recognized research in IT, computer science and computational physics, as well as in nanophotonics and its applied fields of nanotechnology, nanomedicine, artificial neural networks, and more,” says Dr. Mike DeGagné, President and Vice-Chancellor at Nipissing. “These tools are essential to increasing learning opportunities for our students and enhancing our interdisciplinary collaborations between our university and industry.”

“From advanced computation and visual analytics to plasmonics, Nipissing’s researchers are exploring promising new technologies with applications across multiple disciplines,” says Gord Harling, President and CEO of CMC Microsystems. “They are a valuable addition to Canada’s National Design Network.”
