COMSOL Multiphysics Training Courses

February 18 to 21, 2020 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

CMC offers the following two COMSOL Multiphysics training courses:

  1. COMSOL Multiphysics Intensive Training, Feb. 18 and 19, 2020

This course is the recommended starting point for learning how to use the COMSOL Multiphysics software. During the 2-day training, you will develop a strong foundation for your future Multiphysics modelling work. For more details, see the course description.

  1. Low­- and High-­frequency Electromagnetics Modeling,   Feb. 20 and 21, 2020

This course covers low-frequency and high-frequency electromagnetics modelling. The former focuses on static and low-frequency electromagnetics modelling using COMSOL AC/DC Module. The latter focuses on high-frequency EM wave modelling using COMSOL RF Module. For more details, see the course description.

Note: CMC plans to offer another four-day COMSOL training in June 2020 in Western Canada (location TBD). The first two days will be the COMSOL Multiphysics Intensive Training, and the following two days will be module-based. Possible modules are Structural Mechanics and MEMS.

Target Attendees

The prime target attendees are those who are interested in providing training and support for COMSOL tool to other users in their research groups. To be eligible as a trainer:

  • You agree to be identified and act as the designated trainer for your research group;
  • You are a faculty, student, or research staff from a Canadian Academic Institution;
  • Limit 1 per research group; and
  • You have (or have a supervisor with) a CMC Subscription.

You can register either course or both. They are separated registrations.

Registration is open to only trainers at the beginning. However, if there are spaces available four weeks before the courses start, it will be open to academics.

Travel Subsidy



For those participants registering as Trainers, CMC will provide 100% reimbursement for travel and accommodations in accordance with the Queen’s University Travel Policy.

Academics with Subscription (Non-Trainers)

CMC will provide reimbursement for limited subsidized travel and accommodations, in accordance with the following:

  • Academics travelling between 50-250 km each way are eligible for subsidy up to $700.00
  • Academics travelling over 250 km each way are eligible for subsidy up to $1000.00
  • CMC will not provide a subsidy for travel within 50 km each way.

If you plan to apply for a travel subsidy, please read all the policies and guidelines listed above to ensure that you are qualified for the subsidy, and then follow the procedures and requirements to apply.

Note: Original detailed itemized receipts are a mandatory requirement for all travel-related expenses, including meals.

Course cancellations must be received in writing at least one (1) week before the beginning date of the course in question to receive a full refund of the registration fee.
